Проф. д-р Валентин Мирчески (кратка биографија)



Валентин Мирчески е редовен професор на Институтот за хемија при Природно-математичкиот факултет во Скопје. Академската кариера ја започнал во 1992 година, како стручен соработник на Заводот за Општа и неогранска хемија. Роден е во Прилеп во 1966 година. Своето додипломско и последипломско образование го оформил на Факултетот, а докторирал на Природословно-математичкиот факултет во Загреб, Хрватска, во 1999 година, со тема од електрохемијата, под менторство на д-р Миливој Ловриќ - еден од водечките теоретичари во областа на модерните електрохемиски техники. После докторирањето, избран од престижната научна фондација Александер фон Хумболт, заминал на постдокторски истражувачки престој во Германија, во групата на познатиот електрохемичар Фриц Шолц, на Универзитетот во Грајфсвалд.
Неговата наставна дејност е од областа на општата хемија и електрохемијата. Како резултат на неговиот меѓународен углед, во неколку наврати бил избран за визитинг професор на Универзитетите во Брест (Франција) и Лоѓ (Полска). Во 2002 година, со поддршка на фондацијата Александер фон Хумболт, формирал нова лабораторија за електрохемија при Институтот за хемија, во која работел со поголем број домашни студенти на нивните магистерски тези, но и бил домаќин на млади истражувачи од повеќе европски земји.
Неговиот научен интерес е од областа на електрохемијата, со посебен акцент на теоретско и експериментално изучување на електродните механизми и нивната кинетика, изучување на процесите на пренос на полнеж низ течни мембрани, електрохемијата на биохемиски важни соединенија, електрокатализата и електроанализата. Досега објавил 107 научни трудови од кои скоро сите се во престижни меѓународни научни списанија со висок фактор на влијание на издавачките куќи Elsevier, Springer, American Chemical Society, Nature, итн. Според SCOPUS базата на податоци, неговите трудови вкупно се цитирани 1542 пати, во 700 различни трудови, со фактор на влијание h = 23 (Hirschфактор), со што Мирчески се вбројува во редот на најцитирани автори на научна литература од Македонија. Трудовите ги објавил заедно со 84 коавтори, од кои најголем дел се реномира истражувачи од академски институции ширум Европа, што зборува за неговата развиена меѓунарона соработка. Во 2007 година, по покана на меѓународната издавачка куќа Springer, ја објавил специјализираната монографија Square-wave voltammertry: theory and application, а е еден од повеќето коавтори на првиот речник по електрохемија Dictionray of Electrochemistry, објавен од истата издавачка куќа.
Валентин Мирчески е добитник не неколку домашни и меѓународни награди. Во 2006 година, Француското хемиско друштво и Европската асоцијација за електроаналитичка хемија му ја доделила наградата “ESEAC 2006 Young Investigator Award”, за најдобар истражувач на возраст до 40 години, на меѓународниот конгрес за електроаналитичка хемија што се одржал Бордо, Франција. Во 2008 година ја добил државната награда „Гоце Делчев“ за особен придонес во развојот на науката на Република Македонија. Истата година, Универзитетот „Св. Кирил и Методиј“ му доделил плакета за заслуги за развојот на универзитетот, а во 2015 година  добил признание од Универзитетот во Лоѓ (Полска) заради долгорочната соработка и плодната научна публицистика. Неговата публикација Electrode Kinetic Measurements With Square-Wave Voltammetry at a Constant Scan Rate (Electrochimica Acta, 114 (2013) 667) била прогласена за најиновативна студија во 2013 година на конкурсот објавен на меѓународниот конгрес ESEAC 2014 кој се одржал во Малме, Шведска.
